Originally started in 2020, the manuscript remained unfinished for years as Dee Dee struggled to relive the pain of the experience. After the twentieth anniversary of the accident, she felt called once again to complete the story and share its message with the world.

Born in Corsicana, Texas, Dee Dee Ward built a life rooted in perseverance, hard work, and faith. Her professional career included twenty two successful years with AT&T, where she fulfilled her dream of working in the aviation department dispatching company jets. Through personal hardships, motherhood, and spiritual growth, Dee Dee discovered a deeper relationship with God that ultimately inspired her to share her testimony with others.
Today, Dee Dee and Andy live gratefully in Granbury, Texas, where they continue to grow in faith alongside their church community at The Heights Church.
In addition to My Shattered Life, Dee Dee has contributed to another book, Memories & Revelations, a collection of stories, Mom’s Legacy–Rich or Poor, published in 2025. She is also preparing for future works.
